La quinoa es en realidad una nuez peque\u00f1a, de unos 2 mil\u00edmetros, y, por lo tanto, estrictamente, es una fruta seca.<br>Su origen se encuentra en la regi\u00f3n andina de Am\u00e9rica, donde durante 6.000 a\u00f1os fue una importante especie cultivada junto a la patata y el ma\u00edz. El nombre proviene de la lengua quechua.<br>Las Naciones Unidas consideran que la quinoa es un superconreo por sul alto contenido de prote\u00ednas. Adem\u00e1s, contiene todos los amino\u00e1cidos esenciales de una manera equilibrada; es rica en fibra diet\u00e9tica, f\u00f3sforo, magnesio y hierro; no tiene gluten y es f\u00e1cil de digerir.
